Erdogan: Putin & Zelensky Not Ready for Talks

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, after a conversation with the head of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin in China and a telephone conversation with the President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky, said that the parties were “not yet ready” for the meeting.

Details: It is reported that Erdogan talked with reporters on board the plane returning from China, where he met with Putin, and then called Zelensky.

According to him, the negotiations of recent months between Russian and Ukrainian officials in Istanbul showed that the path to the world remains open.

Erdogan noted that Turkey advocates a “gradual increase in the level of negotiations” in order to turn hopes for the world into specific results, adding that any initiative should ultimately be considered at the level of leaders, although the conditions for this have not yet been created.
