The U.S. Department of Justice has yet to release all documents from the investigation into the late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, even though a statutory deadline to declassify them passed on Friday.
Justice Minister Pam Bondi has since ordered the publication of roughly a tenth of all documents. Former Senate President Chuck Schumer therefore suggested taking legal action against the Trump administration for “illegally refusing to release the complete Epstein files and significantly redacting those released.”
A group of Epstein victims released a letter Monday criticizing the Justice Department for not releasing more documents and for not redacting victims’ names in some files, while others were published “full of unusual and extreme cuts without explanation.”
In the last hours, the US Department of Justice published another package of materials from the so-called “Epstein files”, but after a while withdrew it again without explanation.
