The agency claims to have supported 63 thousand businesseswith beyond 39 thousand jobs safeguarded or created from scratch. What is Invitalia

Before talking about Invitalia funds, however, a brief note of clarification (but you can skip to the next paragraph if you already know everything). Invitalia is the national development agency, controlled by the Ministry of Economy, which supports Italy’s economic growth. Its mission is to foster investment, innovation and employment through incentivesservices and programs dedicated to businesses and territories. It manages numerous tools for self-entrepreneurship, digitalisation and the regeneration of areas in difficulty, accompanying projects from birth to implementation. Invitalia also promotes the valorization of cultural heritage and the strengthening of strategic production chains.
Invitalia funds: the territories that have had the most
But where do the Invitalia funds go? The 2024 sustainability report reports the territorial distribution of resources. In particular, they are loans to regions of the South to attract more attention, this is because Invitalia has among its strategic objectives that of strengthening the economy of the less developed areas of the country.
In particular:
- il 51% of the new financed businesses are located in the South;
- il 31% funds for tourism have arrived in the southern regions;
- one third of the liquidity deriving from the Guarantee Fund, equal to exactly 33%it ended up in the southern regions.
On the contrary, however, other Invitalia funds have financed them more forcefully Northern regionsespecially financing for large companies and startups, as in the case of the Smart & Start call.
Invitalia funds: companies and sectors
Now let’s see which companies and which sectors have obtained more Invitalia funds, so as to get an idea of how the agency distributes the resources it has available:
- the projects of women’s businesses 2 thousand were financed;
- those for businesses youthhowever, there were 1,500;
- for the sustainable mobility benefits totaling 594.7 million euros were granted;
- Invitalia funds for environmental and energy transition instead they amount to 339.2 million euros;
- the expense in technological innovation and digitalisation marked the figure of 2.9 billion;
- Invitalia funds for turismo in 2024 they financed 362 projects, activating investments for a total value of 11 million euros;
- 3.1 billion euros were spent to finance the large investments;
- 2.3 billion to strengthen the existing businesses;
- 413 million euros to encourage the creation of new entrepreneurial realities with Invitalia funds.
