Encem began supplying electrolyte samples in the first quarter of this year and acquired a purchase order (PO) last month and this month.
The European client, which has a long -term supply contract with Encem, discussed that the customer mission, contract volume, and contract prices were not disclosed by a secret maintenance clause (NDA). The European Giga Factory supplies electrolyte at the Brotswov factory in Encem.
The supply of the electrolyte is to be supplied to the new giga factory following the existing European Giga Factory supply, which means to expand the proportion of supply to European regions. Existing European Giga Factory supply has been supplied to the top 10 global batteries.
At the IR briefing session on the 20th of last month, CEO Oh Jung -gang said, “We are discussing electrolyte supply with new battery manufacturers in Europe, and some of them are planning to confirm the delivery volume within this year.”
Supply consultations include Chinese battery manufacturers who operate factories in Europe, and at the same time discussed with European local battery companies.
Europe is a region where the demand for EVs has decreased relatively due to the influence of characterism compared to China and the United States. Unlike China and the United States, subsidies are reduced, they are pursuing subsidies expansion policies in major European countries such as Italy, the United Kingdom and Germany. In addition, carbon emission regulations are expected to create new breakthroughs for battery value chain companies.
Meanwhile, Encem established the Polish Brotzov plant in 2018 and the Hungary Comara Rum Plant in 2021, and is planning to build a factory in Dunkirk, France.
An official from Encem said, “We will actively respond to the efforts to revitalize the market by utilizing the subsidies policy to increase the production and sales of electric vehicles.”
