Emilian Schlotz Wins Judo Title | Urbach Judo Club

by Archynetys Sports Desk

Emilian Schlotz was the only JVU starter to compete at the North Württemberg Championships for youth under 11 (U11) on Saturday, February 7th, 2026 in Heilbronn.

Already in 2025, Emilian had managed to win his first major championship title with a lot of fighting spirit and skill; and he wanted to continue this in 2026.

After a long wait, Emilian had everything in his first fight: he had lost twice in the last two winter tournaments against his first opponent from a sports school in Leonberg. But based on the experience he was now preparing for this opponent and so there was a long and hard exchange of blows, but the Leonberger could not assert his strong hip throw against Emilian and Emilian in turn attacked with tai-otoshi (body throw) and also hip throws. After about 2:30 minutes, Emilian was able to take advantage of his opponent’s carelessness and stabbed his opponent’s side with a foot throw (O-soto-gari) and threw uncompromisingly at Ippon (early victory). The next fight was against a judoka from SV Böblingen: after just a few seconds, Emilian was able to bring him to the ground with a technique and fix him there in a hold. All resistance was no longer of any use and Emilian also won the second round early.

In the third round it was against a fighter from the host club Heilbronn. The Heilbronner’s attack was immediately stopped by Emilian and he himself was thrown to the mat using a mixed technique of hip and foot throw, for which he only received half a point. Therefore, Emilian immediately tightened his “vice” hold on the ground, from which the opponent could not free himself. This fight also ended in the ground.

After 3 early Ippon victories, Emilian was able to celebrate his title defense in the weight class up to 32kg and received gold as North Württemberg champion in the 2026 judo competition!

Congratulations to Emilian and good luck for the national championships for which he qualified!
