Fabrizio Romano has provided an update on Emiliano Martinez and the Manchester United target could have a knock-on effect for Andre Onana and Altay Bayindir.
Emiliano Martinez has been linked with Manchester United this summer and the 32-year-old Argentine shot-stopper is still tipped for an exit from Villa Park.
The 2022 World Cup winner was one of the shot-stopper options that United have been exploring, with Senne Lammens another name linked with the club.
However, it is now believed that United’s interest in signing Martinez was subject to the Red Devils failing to land Senne Lammens from Royal Antwerp this summer.
United have since reached an agreement for Lammens and the Premier League club will no longer pursue a move for Martinez before the transfer window slams shut.

Fabrizio Romano’s transfer news on Emiliano Martinez is a real Man Utd eye-opener for both Andre Onana and Altay Bayindir
Aston Villa have valued Emiliano Martinez at £40m and the Premier League club are holding out for the fee amid interest from clubs in Turkey and Saudi Arabia.
It was believed that Martinez was open to a move to Old Trafford and the 2022 World Cup winner wanted to remain in England if he left Villa Park this summer.
Fabrizio Romano on social media platform X, formerly Twitter, has reported that “solutions are being explored” for Martinez amid the latest Senne Lammens news.
He has tweeted that Manchester United-linked Martinez is now “being discussed” with Turkish side Galatasaray after the Red Devils have closed in on Lammens.

Why Galatasaray’s interest in Emiliano Martinez could directly impact Man Utd stars Andre Onana and Altay Bayindir
Altay Bayindir and Andre Onana have failed to impress under Ruben Amorim and their futures have been in doubt amid United’s pursuit of Royal Antwerp’s Lammens.
According to CaughtOffside, Galatasaray have been “strongly considering offers” for United duo Onana and Bayindir in the tail end of the summer transfer window.
However, Galatasaray’s pursuit of Villa star Martinez could throw a spanner in the works for Onana and Bayindir to make their potential exits from Old Trafford.
CaughtOffside reports that Onana, whose place as United No 1 is now in serious doubt, has a ‘significant stumbling block’ for Galatasaray in the form of his wages.
The publication also highlighted the situation at United around Bayindir, who has been viewed as ‘the more realistic option’ out of the two for Galatasaray to sign.
