Embark Studios Co-Founder Fired: Harassment Scandal

by drbyos

Rob Runesson was charged back in March after it was revealed that he sexually assaulted a “popular female streamer” of their game The Finals. The affected person claims that he felt “increasingly uncomfortable” with the actions of the Embark co-founder, but believed that he could not do anything about him, since he preferred to stay silent for a while in order to promote his streams and generate income.

In a statement to IGN, a representative for Embark Studios confirmed that they terminated Runesson by “mutual agreement” after learning of the allegations and that an independent firm was hired to investigate the incident.

The studio takes these matters seriously and the procedure for any similar allegations is to conduct an external investigation with the help of a law firm. Although the aforementioned investigation did not substantiate the allegations, they found the situation unsustainable, so they decided to part ways with Rob instead.

The magazine also contacted the streamer involved in the matter, who preferred not to comment on what happened. Many claim that many of the allegations made public were taken out of context or misleading.
