This approach promotes sustainability and efficiency by substituting fossil fuels with electricity, leading to reduced emissions, improved energy efficiency, and cost savings for both households and businesses. According to recent data from the International Energy Agency (IEA), electrification is projected to play a crucial role in achieving global net-zero emissions targets by 2050.

Il·lumina Plan: A €100 Million Investment in Grid Resilience

A key highlight of the event was the discussion of the “Il·lumina” plan, a important initiative by Iberdrola to invest €100 million in redesigning and reinforcing the electricity grid impacted by the devastating DANA storm. This investment will incorporate resilience measures and cutting-edge digitalization standards, benefiting over 650,000 customers in the affected area. The project underscores Iberdrola’s commitment to not only restoring power but also enhancing the grid’s ability to withstand future extreme weather events.

A dedicated team of 35 professionals is exclusively focused on the Il·lumina plan, coordinating the efforts of approximately 1,000 operators from local contractor companies. This dedicated approach ensures that the Il·lumina project progresses efficiently without disrupting I-of’s other essential investments in the Valencian Community.

Valencia’s Robust Network Infrastructure

I-of manages an extensive network infrastructure in the Valencian Community, comprising over 70,000 km of electric lines, 25,000 operational transformation centers, and 177 substations. This robust infrastructure enables the company to maintain a high level of service for its diverse customer base, including both residential and commercial clients. furthermore, I-of is actively implementing a comprehensive digitalization plan to automate processes and enhance service quality.
