El-Sisi Backs Trump’s Gaza Ceasefire Plan | Egypt News

President Abdel Fattah El -Sisi met today, with Dr. Mustafa Madbouly, Prime Minister, to whom he conveyed the greetings of US President Donald Trump, who met during the meeting called by the American President in New York and a number of Arab and Muslim leaders participated to discuss the situation in the Gaza Strip and post -war plans, and Dr. Mustafa Madbouly participated on behalf of President El -Sisi.

The Prime Minister added that President Trump praised his good relations and appreciation with President Abdel Fattah El -Sisi with his person and his efforts in the region. He joined the meeting with the President of the Defense and Military Production Ministers and the Interior and a number of leaders of the concerned agencies in the country.

Ambassador Mohamed El -Shennawy, the spokesman for the Presidency of the Republic, stated that the Prime Minister reviewed during the meeting the results of his participation, on behalf of President El -Sisi, at the opening of the high -level part of the eighties of the United Nations General Assembly, and also dealt with his participation in the “Two State Solution” conference held at the United Nations headquarters in New York on the sidelines of the General Assembly, in addition to his attendance at the meeting called by US President Donald Trump to discuss the situation in the Gaza Strip and post -plans after War.

The spokesperson pointed out that the Prime Minister explained that during the activities and meetings, he stressed the importance of adhering to the peace option, and Egypt’s keenness on the Camp David Treaty as a strategic option and a role model if the political will is available.

The Prime Minister also explained that the recognition of a number of the major countries in the Palestinian state during a two -state conference constituted a historic event, and contributed to creating an international momentum supporting the issue, as it prevailed widespread consensus to reject Israeli practices, including the rejection of the crime of genocide committed against the Palestinian people, and attempts to impose the fait accompli on the ground.

The Prime Minister also stressed that the word Egypt at the conference stressed the constants of the Egyptian position in support of the Palestinian issue, and that the settlement can only be achieved by establishing the Palestinian state on the borders of the fourth of June 1967, and its capital, East Jerusalem, with Egypt’s categorical rejection of any attempts to displace the Palestinians from their lands, and to continue coordination with the international community to advance the efforts of the two -state solution.

Regarding the meeting that President Trump called on Gaza, Dr. Mustafa Madbouly explained that the American president confirmed his rejection of the continuation of the war, and that the United States is determined to end it, and that it has set a clear road map for its immediate stopping, and that President Trump also stressed the possibility of implementing a plan to rebuild the sector without displacing its people.

The spokesperson added that the Prime Minister also reviewed the results of his discussions in New York with a number of leaders of countries and senior officials, which dealt with ways to enhance bilateral relations in various fields.

The spokesperson pointed out that President El -Sisi stressed that peace is the strategic choice of Egypt to ensure a safe and stable future for the peoples of the region, stressing that history has proven that the conflicts do not serve any party, especially in light of the conflicts that the region suffers from its people, which holds its countries, led by Egypt, a great responsibility in protecting and consolidating peace.

In this context, President El -Sisi welcomed the initiative of President Trump to stop the war in Gaza, expressing the aspiration of its implementation as soon as possible, stressing the importance of intensifying coordination with the international community to increase humanitarian aid directed at the Gaza Strip, and renewed Egypt’s position that refuses to displace the Palestinians or include parts of the West Bank to Israeli sovereignty.
