The Age ObjectJanuary 9, 2026 (SPS) The Moroccan occupation continues its systematic repression of human rights activists and defenders in the occupied territories of Western Sahara, in flagrant violation of international law and human rights conventions.
In this context, on Tuesday, the Moroccan occupation imposed a security cordon around the homes of Sahrawi activists Hassna Baba Ahmed Adouihe, member of the Association for the Protection of Sahrawi Prisoners in Moroccan Prisons, and Mina Baali, member of the Executive Office of the Sahrawi Authority Against the Moroccan Occupation (ISACOM) in occupied El Aaiun.
These practices are part of the repression against Sahrawi activists in the occupied territories.
Sahrawi human rights defender Hassna Baba Ahmed Douih said the siege “included a heavy deployment of vehicles belonging to the Moroccan police and auxiliary forces, as well as security and intelligence elements that completely surrounded his house,” noting that “these repressive measures aimed to disrupt a commemorative activity that was supposed to bring together Sahrawi activists.” (SPS)
