An eight-story building located in Praceta Cónego Francisco Pacheco Pereira, in Lamaçães, Braga, was evacuated this afternoon as a precaution after a fire.
According to what O MINHO learned from the commander of the Firefighters Sapadores de Braga, Nuno Osório, the fire started in an electrical panel in the building’s garage, causing smoke to rise up the stairs to the apartments.
This situation made it difficult for some residents to leave, as they looked for balconies to find fresh air.
Firefighters quickly extinguished the flames.
