The official countdown to the largest collective time change in Egypt has begun – 100 million Egyptians will face an exceptional night that contains only 23 hours instead of 24!
Government sources confirmed that the country is preparing to implement daylight saving time in 2026, starting from Friday 24 AprilIn a move that will affect the daily lives of millions of citizens by moving the clock forward by a full 60 minutes.

The dramatic time shift will occur at midnight on Thursday, April 23, when the clock will jump from 12:00 to 1:00 directly, meaning a full hour will be lost from that night – a moment that will witness the greatest time synchronization in Egypt’s modern history.
This application comes based on Presidential Law No. 24 of 2023 issued by President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi to regulate the dual time system in the country, which stipulates the continuation of daylight saving time for a period of 6 continuous months until the last Thursday of October.
