Dental Care Arrives in Edern: A Community Celebrates
Residents of the Glazik region can finally smile a little wider. By the close of 2025, two new dentists will establish their practices within the Edern health center, significantly improving access to dental care in the area. Dr. Loredana Chis is scheduled to begin consultations on Monday, April 7th, with the second dentist expected to arrive before year’s end. This growth is a welcome relief for a community that has struggled with limited dental services.
The arrival of these dentists addresses a critical need. Mayor Cozien Hails the End of a “Medical Desert”
Jean-Paul Cozien, the mayor of Edern, expressed his satisfaction with the successful recruitment of the dentists, emphasizing that no external recruitment agencies were needed. He sees this as a turning point for the community.
This is the end of the crossing of the medical desert. Some had doubts about our ability to find caregivers to fill the health area… Despite everything, I have always been convinced of the merits of this project. In a country where access to care is uneven,it is significant to show initiative and not to remain motionless.

A Fully Integrated Health Space
With the addition of the two dentists, the edern health center, which opened in July 2024, is now fully staffed. The center already houses two general practitioners, seven nurses, an osteopath, an art therapist, and a kinesiologist, creating a thorough healthcare hub for the community.
Dr. Chis: Driven by a Desire to Serve

She is aware of the challenges posed by the shortage of dentists in the region but is motivated by a strong sense of purpose.
I am delighted to come and exercise in Edern. What matters to me is to be able to help people. This feeling of being useful is what drives me and motivates me.

Future Expansion on the Horizon

Looking ahead, Mayor Cozien is considering expanding the health center to accommodate additional specialists.
This would allow us to welcome ENT or a cardiologist for example. And to further relieve the needs of the inhabitants.
