For the 952nd edition of the series of events, we welcome the trio of Aly Keita, Jan Galega Brönnimann and Lucas Niggli.Aly Keita from a Griot family of the Malinke from the Ivory Coast and is a master of the Balafon, the African Xylophone. The musician from Côte d’Ivoire settled in Europe years ago and has played with a number of jazz prominents since then: from keyboardist Joe Zawinul to the Norwegian saxophonist Jan Garbarek, most recently at the festival “Jazz in E.” in Eberswalde with the Indian master drummer Trilok Gurtu. Aly Keita’s music in the trio comes into its own with drummer Lucas Niggli and the clarinetist and saxophonist Jan Galega Brönnimann. The two Swiss musicians were born in Cameroon and know each other. The first successful album of the trio was released in 2016, since then they have given concerts and are on tours. The trance -like listening pleasure begins at Halbelf in the morning.
