Easter in Hamburg means turning on the radio and listening to your favorite hits. The only true Easter mega-hit marathon is entering the next round with “Radio Hamburg TOP 837”. From Holy Saturday, April 4th, from 4 a.m. to Easter Monday, April 6th at around 9 p.m., Hamburg’s number one music station will once again be playing the listeners’ favorite hits non-stop – this year 837 pieces, in keeping with the 837th port anniversary. A total of 65 hours of music, which will be presented by three teams of presenters alternating from the studio in the Audiohafen Hamburg in the middle of the city and from this year’s outdoor studio on the Hamburg Cathedral (location Feldstrasse entrance).

Regardless of whether it’s a current chart hit, 80s classic, rock anthem, pop ballad, pop song or goosebumps song: you can request it via the station website until March 30th at 10 a.m. Three personal favorite mega hits are possible for each participant.
Radio Hamburg program manager Niklas Naujok about the idea of the XXL hit parade: “The TOP 800 should include everything that our listeners associate with beautiful memories, special moments and a lot of musical feeling. Anyone who votes also has the chance to win attractive prizes, including an iPhone 17 Pro.”

- Stübi & Selma Pütz! The friendly moderation team who never run out of good spirits during the XXL music spectacle.
- Anke & Tim Gafron! Experienced Radio Hamburg voices who lead through the hit marathon with a lot of passion for music.
They accompany the listeners through all the placements, provide stories about the songs and ensure that the music marathon remains noticeable throughout the entire Easter weekend.

On Maundy Thursday, April 2, 2026 from 7 a.m., Radio Hamburg will publish the complete TOP 837 track list with all broadcast times. Only the TOP 20 traditionally remain secret until the final. The list is available to download online from the station website.
Final of the TOP 20 on Easter Monday
Things get particularly exciting on Easter Monday from around 7 p.m. Then the final spurt begins with the secret TOP 20. Until the end, it remains unclear which song will make it to the top this year. At around 9 p.m. it will be clear which title received the most votes and is therefore number 1 on Radio Hamburg TOP 837.
An integral part of Easter in Hamburg for decades
The Easter Mega Hit Marathon has been an integral part of Radio Hamburg’s program since 1989. The special broadcast was created on the occasion of the 800th anniversary of the port. For many, it has long been more than just a song list – it is a piece of Easter tradition, connected with memories, favorite songs and the feeling of spending the holidays together.
