Eamon Flynn’s Passing: Remembering a Legacy of Love and Music

On Tuesday, February 18, 2025, Eamon Flynn, a much-loved resident of The Gate in Mountcollins, Co. Limerick, passed away peacefully at Milford Care Centre. His journey was marked by numerous relationships and a deep connection to his community.

A Life Well-Lived

Eamon Flynn’s life was deeply rooted in family and community. Sadly, he predeceased his beloved first wife Maura, daughter Sarah, and son Edmond, as well as his parents, Nell and Jer Flynn, and his second wife Vicki.

Despite the loss of so many close family members, Eamon was able to find strength in his remaining loved ones. He leaves behind his daughters Siobhán and Elaine, their families, sons David, Kevin, and John, and their families in Massachusetts.

A Unrealized Legacy

Eamon’s legacy extends far beyond his immediate family. He is survived by seventeen grandchildren and a great-granddaughter, a testament to the impact he had on the younger generations. He also leaves a close-knit Mountcollins family, including his niece Philomena, and his faithful companion, Timmy O’Connor, along with Timmy’s sons David, Sean, and Timothy.

His wide circle of friends and family spans across the country and internationally, with relatives and friends such as Maureen and Bill in Killarney, and Gerry and Linda in the UK, all of whom will sorely miss his presence.

In addition to his numerous musician friends and wonderful neighbors, Eamon Flynn cherished his relationships with his extended family and the community of Mountcollins.

In Memory of Eamon Flynn

Those who wish to pay their respects to Eamon Flynn may do so at Harnett’s Funeral Home, located in The Square, Abbeyfeale, on Sunday, February 23, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.

The following day, a Requiem Mass for Eamon will be celebrated in The Church of The Assumption in Mountcollins on Monday, February 24, at 11:00 a.m.

Eamon Flynn will be cremated privately following the service.
