
A bonus of up to 20 thousand euros arrives, but not for everyone: a category will be able to request it with specific requirements.
In recent months there has been more and more talk of a new one economic incentive designed to support a specific category of professionals and businesses. This is a bonus that can reach up to 20,000 euros, a significant help in a context in which digital transformation is moving fast and cybersecurity has become essential. But the measure is not open to everyone: to access it you need some specific requirements and a minimum investment that cannot be ignored. Before understanding how it works in detail, it is good to have a clear picture of what it actually involves and the timing currently awaiting definition.
A bonus designed for cloud and cybersecurity
The Ministry of Business and Made in Italy has allocated 150 million euros, mainly intended for small businesses and VAT numbers who need to update obsolete digital infrastructures. The objective of the measure is twofold: on the one hand to promote the adoption of more modern cloud services, on the other strengthen cybersecurity levelsan aspect on which the Government is intensifying its attention also in light of the growing threats in the IT landscape.
The bonus can cover up to 50% of the expenses incurredbut only starting from a minimum investment of 4,000 euros. The maximum amount that can be obtained is 20,000 euros, a figure that can represent concrete help for those who need to renew outdated systems. At the moment, however, the Ministry has not yet officially opened the application submission phase. The dedicated platform already exists, but does not allow any operations until the list of authorized suppliers is published.

The range of services allowed is wide and concerns areas that are fundamental for the modern functioning of any business. In scope cloudinclude: virtual machines, storage systems, backups and managed databases, accounting software and HR management platforms, remotely hosted development environments, protection systems such as VPNs and anti-DDoS technologies. On the cybersecurity front, eligible expenses include latest generation firewalls, advanced routers and switches with protective functions, professional antivirus and antimalware, network monitoring software and encryption systems.
To access the incentive there is only one technical requirement. The company or professional must have an internet connection with a minimum speed of 30 Mbps. It is a simple criterion, but essential to ensure that new cloud services and security tools can operate effectively.
Added to this is the need to invest at least 4,000 euros. Figure representing the minimum threshold for obtaining the contribution, which will cover a maximum of half of the expense. The funded project must concern exclusively cloud and cybersecurity, including new systems or advanced versions compared to existing solutions.
