He was part of the cityscape for eight years, now he was driving for the last time: On October 31, 2025, the chapter of the Green E – Roller “Eddy” in Düsseldorf ends. Stadtwerke Düsseldorf say goodbye to its sharing offer, which has found many supporters since 2017.
With the start in August 2017, “Eddy” was a pioneer for new forms of mobility in the state capital. The strikingly green electric scooters not only stood for driving pleasure, but also made it easier to find the parking space and relieved the streets. “Eddy” quickly developed into a likeable ambassador for micromobility and became an integral part of urban traffic.
In the meantime, however, the mobility landscape in Düsseldorf has changed significantly. Several sharing providers for E-scooters and E-bikes are active, the cycle path network is continuously expanded and new mobility stations are being created over the urban area. While electric scooters have already disappeared in many German cities in many German cities, “Eddy” in Düsseldorf lasted unusually long.
Now the time for a change has come here too. Stadtwerke Düsseldorf gratefully look back on the years with “Eddy” and will rely more on integrated mobility solutions in the future. With the farewell of “Eddy”, a piece of Düsseldorf’s mobility history ends – and a new chapter begins.
