Teams representing Wesermünde demonstrated exceptional skill and determination at the championships, with participants competing in the M40, M50, and M60 age categories. Having secured their places through the North German championships, these teams entered the competition with high hopes and unwavering commitment.

M50 Team Claims Coveted Championship Title

The M50 team, comprised of Müller, Meyer, Schulze, and Mustermann, delivered a dominant performance throughout the tournament. Their preliminary round was nothing short of spectacular, securing victories against SV Weiler, MTV Markoldendorf, TV berkenbaum, and VfL Waiblingen. This undefeated streak earned them a commanding first-place position with a perfect score of 8:0.

Their momentum continued into Sunday’s cross and placement matches, where they decisively defeated TSG Eisenberg with a score of 40:24. The final showdown against SG Tempelhof-Charlottenburg from berlin proved to be another resounding success, with the M50 team securing a 40:26 victory. This triumph crowned them as the German champions, a well-deserved title they proudly carried back to Weser.

M40 Team Secures a Respectable Fifth Place

The M40 team, featuring Thomas Obst, Patrick Hahn, Dirk Straßburger, and Klaus and Dieter Kischkoweit, showcased their competitive spirit throughout the championships. In the preliminary round, they faced formidable opponents, including TV Kleefeld, TSV 1862 Babenhausen e. V., and TSV Rißtissen. Their strong performance earned them second place in their group,advancing them to the cross and placement games on Sunday.

Despite a narrow 28:31 loss against MTV living in 1913, the team rebounded with a convincing 38:30 victory against TV Oberschopfheim 1919 e. V., ultimately securing a commendable fifth-place finish overall.

M60 Team Battles to Seventh Place Amidst Challenges

The M60 team faced adversity as they entered the competition with a depleted roster, missing two key players. Ulrich Kramer, Jürgen Horstmann, Michael Höper, and Dieter Schieleit valiantly represented their team in Group L, competing against TSB Burgdorf, PV Gundernhausen, TB Essen-Haarzopf, and SG Bremen-Ost.

After a difficult first day, the team found themselves in fifth place within their group. However, they rallied on Sunday, achieving a decisive 35:23 victory against TuS Ricklingen.In their final match, they prevailed with a 33:30 win, securing a hard-fought seventh-place finish.
