According to our information, the students started writing messages on the sidewalks and spaces near the school, depending on where the delegation was supposed to walk.

“On Wednesday night, they saw a few people rehearsing the route they were going to take, and they decided to draw accordingly,” one of the students who came to take pictures of the space in front of the entrance to the university’s main building told us on Thursday morning.

He also said that in the evening there were attempts by the university security to get the students to stop drawing on the sidewalks, but they finally let them do it.

Not in one place

“It already seemed that our society is apathetic, but it turns out that this is not the case, and it is all the more symbolic that the chalk revolution is being done symbolically with students on the university grounds,” said a university graduate.

A woman from Košice who was walking her dog approached the sign Fico collaborate. She also looked around for more links, smiled and said, “Original.”

Students hurrying to lectures stopped here and there to read what was written in chalk on the sidewalks. “Sila, look here,” they said to each other with a smile.

Where it started

The so-called chalk revolution is an initiative that arose in many cities in Slovakia after the incident at the Poprad grammar school. Prime Minister Robert Fico (Smer) was there to talk with the students. Before that, messages appeared outside the school, one spray-painted, two written in chalk.

One of the students finally had to go to the police to testify, the police were right at the school for him. Finally, Fico did not have the meeting, he stated that he had another urgent program. However, according to him, he wants to return to school.
