– Superstar Leon Draisaitl will be missing from his NHL team in the fight for playoff tickets. In Munich he was treated by long-time Bavarian doctor Müller-Wohlfahrt.
Ice hockey star Leon Draisaitl is hoping for a comeback after his injury with the Edmonton Oilers in the playoffs of the North American professional league NHL. “It will definitely take a few weeks. I hope that we are here long enough for me to be able to play again,” the German international told the TV channel Sky after being treated by long-time Bayern doctor Hans-Wilhelm Müller-Wohlfahrt this week.
Draisaitl suffered an unspecified lower-body injury after a body check in the 3-1 win against Nashville a week ago. The clubs usually do not disclose exact diagnoses. The Oilers only expect their top performer to be back in the playoffs, if the Canadians reach them.
After the game against Nashville, coach Kris Knoblauch was still hoping that the downtime would only be one or two games. Now there should definitely be 14 games until mid-April. With 97 points, Draisaitl is one of the top scorers in the NHL.
