Tragic news has been announced with the passing of Dr. Robert Francis McEneaney, known affectionately to his friends, family, and colleagues as Bob. He peacefully departed this world surrounded by his loved ones on January 2nd, 2025, in Knockanish West, Tralee, having spent part of his life in Kilkenny.
A Brief Tribute to a Strong, Loving Family Man
Bob leaves behind a large, loving family and a community of friends deeply affected by his departure. He was pre-deceased by his parents, Peter and Bridget, his brothers, Peter and Patrick (Paddy), his grandson, Nicholas, and his nephew, Niall. His devotion to his family was evident in the respect and love he showered upon them.
A Wealth of Love and Joy
Bob’s attched life is marked by a confederation of joyful moments and unconditional love. His wife, Catherine, describes him as devoted, a testament to their long and meaningful partnership. His children, Sarah and Robert (along with Katie, his wife), and Peter (accompanied by Gabi) hold dear memories of a shepherd’s care and support.
The grandchildren, Charlie, Eva, Rory, and Frankie, also found in Bob a font of wisdom and affection. His siblings, nieces, and nephews will miss him deeply. His impact was also felt in the wider community, where he was cherished and remembered for his kindness and professionalism.
Living His Final Days in Peace
Bob passed away peacefully in the comfort of his home, enveloped in the care and love of his family. His last days were marked with love and respect, encapsulating his personal values and the way he lived his life.
Celebrating His Memory
In remembrance of his lovely life and enduring spirit, friends and family will gather on Wednesday, January 8th, 2025, for a Requiem Mass to be held at the Church of Our Lady and St. Brendan on Upper Rock St., Tralee, at 11:00 am. Legacy and Perpetuation of Love
Bob’s spirit will be honored through private cremation following the service. The family requests that flowers be kept to a minimum, and those wishing to pay their respects may do so by making donations in lieu of flowers to University Hospital Kerry – ICU. This gesture would be a meaningful way to remember him and support the institution that played such an important role in his care.

Bob’s life was full of love, joy, and service. His legacy will continue through his loved ones and the imprint he has left on the community. The outpouring of love and respect during this trying time is a poignant reminder of the impact he made in the lives of so many.
