The DP World Tour has announced a new partnership with Amazon Web Services (AWS) which will see AWS become its official cloud provider.
The partnership will use AWS’s cloud and AI technology to introduce new fan experiences across broadcast, social media, and digital channels. This includes new data-driven insights and shot commentary powered by generative AI, with instantaneous language translation available on the Tour’s digital platforms.
The deal will also see the development of a ‘Virtual Twin’ of each golf course for spectators, and a new intelligence platform to streamline tournament operations. Additionally, AWS will power a new data platform, ‘Green Drive Live’to help the Tour monitor and optimise its environmental impact in line with its net zero carbon by 2040 commitment.

That’s the experience we want to deliver to every golf fan worldwide.”

Instead of a single stadium, we are building a smart city every week, often in remote locations. That is then replicated in 26 different countries around the world, all with different infrastructure requirements. With our tournament services now hosted in AWS, we will be able to deliver a connected and intelligent course with greater consistency and reliability, wherever we are in the world.”
