Ariana Grande will return to Saturday Night Live as a guest host in December, but a Domingo appearance is still unclear.
During an appearance on The Tonight ShowGrande jokingly gave an update on the SNL character after late-night show host Jimmy Fallon asked if he was coming back.
“Oh, I think — he’s been really busy,” Grande said on the NBC late-night show. “I think Domingo is … I think Domingo is dead.”
Fallon joked that he had also heard that Domingo was no longer alive.

Domingo is an SNL character portrayed by Marcello Hernández. The character first appeared on the Grande-hosted SNL episode in October 2024. The sketch follows an affair between Domingo and bride, Kelsey, played by Chloe Fineman. Domingo has reprised the character multiple times, and each sketch includes a parody of a popular song.

Following the popularity of the character, Domingo made an appearance at Sabrina Carpenter’s Short N’ Sweet tour. Carpenter “arrested” Domingo during the Los Angeles concert, with Marcello appearing as the character. When Carpenter hosted SNL in October of this year, Domingo made a new appearance during the show’s cold open.
Although it remains unclear whether Domingo will appear during the Grande-hosted show, the singer will host SNL on December 20, with Cher as the musical guest.
