When Larian Studios first confirmed the next Divinity game at The Game Awards, it was not clear what kind of game the studio is working on. Now Larian’s CEO has explained a little more about what is coming.
The next big game from Larian Studios was revealed last week. The trailer the studio shared at The Game Awards 2025 didn’t give us much information about what kind of game the studio is actually working on.
We already know that Larian is no longer working with the Dungeons and Dragons license that was used for the critically acclaimed Baldur’s Gate 3. We also know that the next game will not be Divinity: Original Sin 3. However, we now know that the game will be a turn-based RPG after Larian CEO Swen Vincke spoke to Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier.
The studio aims to make a game much bigger than Baldur’s Gate 3 and Vincke expects the final product to be much better. Vincke mentions that he and the studio are proud of Baldur’s Gate 3 but now they have the opportunity to make exactly the game they want and take the turns as far as they want. He also confirms that the next Divinity will be launched as an Early Access title like Baldur’s Gate 3. However, we have no idea when we can get our hands on the first part of what Larian believes will be their biggest and best game yet.
