It will be back from January 27 to February 6. Its aim is to encourage children to reduce their time spent on screens. The challenge proposed to young people is to disconnect and limit leisure screen time because digital overexposure is a real public health issue.
Emotions facing screens and AI
Asked by “Sud Ouest” about the reasons for this challenge, the deputy mayor, responsible for education, Marie Da Rocha confided: “Throughout the year, we work hand in hand with the educational community to support children towards rational use of screens. Preventing excesses and dangers, regulating practices and above all, making them want to flourish outside of screens are the pillars of our educational roadmap. This approach cannot succeed without the involvement of adults who work in the child’s sphere. The Mission Déconnexion challenge stimulates and translates this collective dynamic. Together, teachers, parents, associations and institutions, we want to offer shared time, create new habits and restore the taste for screen-free activities. This collective work comes to life in an activity booklet distributed in schools. »
