LOS ANGELES – An episode of “Dateline” focusing on the Sean Combs trial has been removed from streaming platforms amid a defamation lawsuit against NBC. The episode, titled “Sean Combs on Trial,” aired shortly before the trial began but is no longer available on peacock.

The removal comes after Combs filed a lawsuit against NBC and Peacock, seeking $100 million in damages for alleged false and defamatory statements in another NBC documentary, “Diddy: The Making of a Bad Boy.” NBC has declined to comment on whether the removal of the “Dateline” episode is related to the lawsuit.

Other “Dateline” episodes that aired before trials have not been removed. For example, “The Night of the Nor’easter,” which focuses on Karen Read, who is accused of killing her boyfriend, remains online despite presenting outdated information. The episode mentions Read’s lawyers appealing a judge’s decision, which was denied months after the episode aired.

Similarly, “The Terrible Night on King Road,” which discusses the upcoming trial of Bryan Kohberger, accused of killing four University of Idaho students, is still available on Peacock. This episode has also faced controversy, with the case judge issuing a document hold order due to nonpublic information being included in the episode.

“Dateline” is Combs’s favorite TV show.

Combs’s legal team has not responded to requests for comment.”dateline” continues to host a daily podcast about the trial, and NBC has joined other media outlets in seeking permission to have cameras in the courtroom.

The Combs defamation suit is part of a trend of public figures filing cases against the media. Kash Patel, previously selected by Trump for FBI director, sued CNN for defamation, though the suit was dismissed. He is now suing MSNBC over reporting on his time at nightclubs.

Trump has also announced a defamation lawsuit against CBS and Paramount has reportedly offered $15 million to settle another suit by Trump against CBS for alleged deceptive editing practices.
