Brendan Paul Testifies About Diddy’s ‘Freak-Offs’ and Hotel Damages
Brendan Paul, the former assistant to Sean “Diddy” Combs, provided testimony on Friday (June 20) detailing his experiences working for the music mogul, including preparations for and clean-up after what were described as “freak-offs.”
Paul testified that he routinely worked 100-hour weeks for the 55-year-old Combs, who has pleaded not guilty to federal charges that include sex trafficking, racketeering conspiracy, and transporting individuals across state lines for prostitution.
According to Paul, his duties included “advancing” hotel locations, which involved preparing rooms before Diddy’s arrival. This included providing items such as baby oil, lubricant, condoms, candles, and liquor, as well as arranging for extra towels, sheets, and water through room service. Paul stated that he would prepare rooms for what Diddy termed “wild king nights,” a euphemism for “freak-offs.”
Paul stated that while he did not personally witness the acts, he understood they involved sex and partying. “I didn’t know what went on, but I just knew what I had to bring,” he told the court. He also claimed that his responsibilities extended to cleaning up after these events. “I would put on gloves for sanity reasons,” he explained, adding that he would neatly pile used towels and sheets and leave tips for the hotel staff. However, he noted that the damage sometimes exceeded his ability to manage it. “The rooms were in disarray,” he said. “I would try to avoid getting damage charges.”
Despite his efforts, Paul testified that hotels frequently charged Diddy important fees for damages incurred. For example, at Miami’s St. Regis Bal Harbour Resort in December 2021, Diddy was allegedly charged $6,000 for “losses and damages.” Similarly,The London West Hollywood allegedly issued a $3,750 charge in January 2023 after hotel staff discovered “bodily fluids stained on the wood floor” and “used linens in various sections of the room.”
In April of the same year, another $1,800 charge was allegedly applied for towels “soaked in baby oil” and evidence of smoking in the room.
During cross-examination,defense attorney Brian Steel asked Paul if drugs were “a minor part” of his role,to which Paul agreed, while also stating that he was “absolutely not” a drug mule. Regarding his arrest in March 2024 with 0.7 grams of cocaine, Paul claimed he was unaware he still had it on his person.
“I was sweeping his room earlier that morning,” he explained, “I grabbed the drugs and put them in my bag and I forgot to put it elsewhere.” When questioned about why he didn’t inform the police that the drugs were not his, Paul responded, “Loyalty.” When questioned about his current feelings towards Diddy,Paul simply stated,”It’s complicated.”
The prosecution is expected to conclude its case as early as Monday (June 23), with the defense possibly wrapping up by midweek. Diddy is facing five federal charges that coudl result in a sentence of 15 years to life in prison if he is convicted.
