A Night of Nostalgia: “Merci Cherie” Comes to Dermbach

Teh municipality of Dermbach is set to host a captivating evening of music and cabaret, paying homage to the enduring legacies of udo Jürgens and Heinz Erhardt. On Sunday, may 18th, the Schlosshalle Dermbach will transform into a stage for “Merci Cherie – a song and cabaret evening with Udo Jürgens and heinz Erhardt,” performed by the talented quartet Benedikt Blum & Friends from Weimar.

Benedikt Blum & Friends: Reviving the Classics

Led by singer and pianist Benedikt Blum, a Dermbach native now residing in Weimar, the ensemble aims to breathe new life into the timeless hits and humorous works of these two legendary artists. Blum will be joined by violinist Susanne Grüttner from dresden, pianist Jürgen Adlung, and guitarist Franziska Deeg from wileck in Hesse, creating a rich tapestry of sound and performance.

Jürgen Adlung’s extensive experience includes performances with renowned musicians such as Udo Lindenberg, Manfred Krug, and Karat, as well as appearances on television and international stages, adding a layer of professional polish to the tribute.

Remembering Udo Jürgens and Heinz Erhardt: Giants of German Entertainment

Udo Jürgens, the Austrian-Swiss composer and singer, captivated audiences across generations with his memorable melodies and engaging stage presence. Throughout his illustrious 65-year career,Jürgens performed extensively,completing 25 tours and over 2,000 concerts worldwide.His death in 2014 at the age of 80 marked the end of an era, but his music continues to resonate with fans globally.

Heinz Erhardt, a beloved comedian, musician, and actor, similarly left an indelible mark on German entertainment.Celebrated for his wit and charm, Erhardt entertained audiences in coffee houses, theaters, and on television for decades. His untimely passing in 1979 at the age of 70 was mourned by fans across the nation.

Both artists are still celebrated and loved today. For one evening, Benedikt Blum & Friends bring the two exceptional artists back onto the stage.

The concert promises an intimate and engaging experience, with seating arrangements in place. Due to limited space, early ticket purchase is highly recommended. Tickets are priced at 12 euros and can be purchased at Zobel’s bakery, the Corinna Schwarz Post branch, and the Dermbach library during their respective opening hours.
