Positive balance of the Castilla y León clubs in the Spanish Duathlon Supersprint Championships for Clubs, Mixed Relays and 2×2 Relays that were held last weekend in La Nucía (Alicante). The regional representative in the First Division of the Club League, Deporama Triatlón Soriano, has won the silver medal in the two relay events held.
On Saturday afternoon, the team made up of María Barceló, Nicolás Heredero, Marina Muñoz and Alfonso Izquierdo climbed to the second place on the podium after completing the four supersprint duathlons with a total time of 01:21:52 and even setting the best time of the entire race in the second and third posts. The Sorianos have only been surpassed by Club Deportivo Delikia, which has taken the gold by just five seconds, closing the CEA Bétera medals (01:22:58).
The second runner-up has come from the men’s team that competed, on Sunday morning, in the 2×2 Relay event, made up of Paco Martí, Nicolás Heredero, Yerove Rodríguez, Sergio Correa, Alfonso Izquierdo and Gorka Rodríguez, who stopped the clock at 01:19:39, only seven seconds faster than the Peñota Dental Triathlon champions. The Diablillos de Rivas Triathlon Club has closed the podium (01:20:11).
In the women’s race of the Spanish 2×2 Relay Championship, in the First Division, the Deporama Triatlón Soriano team, formed by Daniela Izquierdo, Amanda García, Marina Casals, Sue Castelló, Clara Pastor and María Barceló, has been seventh (01:36:40), while in the Second Division, Laguna de Duero Triathlon, led by Elena Díez, María Mediavilla, Judit Nunes, Lucía Fernández, Marta Gómez and Elena Olea, was twelfth (01:43:16).
During the weekend the Spanish Duathlon Supersprint Championship for Clubs was also held. In the top women’s category, Marina Muñoz (Deporama Triatlón Soriano) (00:21:05) has crossed the finish line in second position, although the club has finished in fifth position after adding 276 points. In the Women’s Second Division, Triatlón Laguna de Duero finished ninth with 154 points. The Castilian and Leonese participation in this event has closed with the Deporama Triatlón Soriano men’s team, sixth with 229 points.
