top Dental Supplementary insurers for Claims Handling in 2025

Customer Satisfaction Reigns: Identifying the Best Dental Supplementary Insurers

In the realm of dental supplementary insurance, customer satisfaction with claims handling is paramount. A recent extensive study by Servicevalue GmbH, in collaboration with FOCUS Money magazine, has pinpointed the insurance providers that excel in this critical area. The study, now in its eighth year, surveyed customers on their experiences with claims and performance regulation across various insurance sectors, including dental.

Methodology: A Deep Dive into Customer Experiences

The study’s methodology involved surveying registered panelists in November 2024. Participants were asked to evaluate their experiences with claims or performance regulation from their insurance providers within the past 36 months. ServiceValue ensured the socio-demographic characteristics of the panelists were representative of the broader population. A ample 61,005 customer evaluations were collected, covering the regulatory practices of 639 insurance companies and cover concept providers.

Participants rated their providers on a five-stage scale, ranging from “excellent” to “bad.” The analysis then calculated rankings based on the average of all client reviews for each provider within specific insurance branches. Insurers achieving above-average scores were rated “good,” while those exceeding the “good” average earned the coveted “very good” designation.

While the study provides valuable insights, it’s notable to note that specific data points, such as reaction speed, payment timelines, or regulation scope, were not directly collected. The survey focused on a general assessment due to the extensive scope of the examination.

DKV has achieved this distinction seven times as 2019, and HUK-Coburg has also been recognized seven times, with one year of absence.

Beyond the Rankings: The Importance of Dental Supplementary Insurance

Dental health is a critical aspect of overall well-being, and dental supplementary insurance plays a vital role in ensuring access to necessary care. According to the World Health Organization, oral diseases affect nearly 3.5 billion people worldwide. These conditions can significantly impact quality of life, making comprehensive dental coverage essential.

Choosing the right dental supplementary insurance can be a daunting task. Factors to consider include the scope of coverage, the network of providers, and,as highlighted by this study, the insurer’s reputation for efficient and satisfactory claims handling.
