The German Society for Clinical Neurophysiology meets in Augsburg under the motto “Understanding, maintaining and modulating neural function”. A central topic is the use of artificial intelligence. Algorithms are intended to help detect neurological diseases earlier and more precisely. The congress is thus building a bridge from cutting-edge research directly to the doctor’s office.

Salk Institute declares 2026 the Year of Brain Health

At the same time, the renowned Salk Institute is launching a broad initiative. The researchers want to create the basis to prevent Alzheimer’s. For example, they investigate the connection between heart health and brain function. An expert event on February 25th will officially launch the campaign.

Science confirms what many suspect: lifestyle is crucial. According to studies, up to 40 percent of dementia cases can be prevented. The biggest risk factor that can be influenced? Physical inactivity.
