The German startup DeepDrive has developed, in addition to unique electric motors with two rotors, a two -rod generator for a range extension. The automakers are going to tear.

The German startup DeepDrive comes to the forefront of the automotive industry with technology, which can fundamentally change the world of electric vehicles. Its patented two -rod electric motor can offer higher power, lower cost and greater efficiency than current electric motors. And all at only about 60 kg, while competing similarly powerful engines weigh more than 100 kg.

In addition to the electric motor itself, DeepDrive has also developed a two -rod generator on a similar principle, which can act as a range of range. This system is designed to be directly connected to the crankshaft of the internal combustion engine, minimizing power loss losses. The result is extended range vehicles that combine the benefits of a fully electric platform with a small combustion engine for recharging the battery.

Such a solution allows automakers to “hybridize” clean electric vehicles without the need for electrifying traditional combustion platforms. So it is exactly the opposite procedure that is used today and more suitable for the future when battery vehicles begin to take the scepter from the combustion ones. Electric vehicles with extended range will be particularly attractive in markets and in regions where the charging infrastructure is still insufficient, and increase manufacturers’ flexibility at a time when the global transition to the electric car is uneven.

DeepDrive is already testing its technology in real conditions. And the results are promising. It is therefore surprising that the interest in DeepDrive products is enormous. Startup is already working with eight of the ten largest car manufacturers, and preliminary customers also include Asian brands such as Li Auto, Byd or Nissan with Epower. Cooperation with companies such as BMW, Continental and Aumovio and investments with narrow ties to Volkswagen prove that DeepDrive has a promising future ahead.
