Vietnamese authorities are intensifying efforts to combat deceptive advertising in the traditional medicine sector and have issued a nationwide recall of Herbal Nakids anti-lice shampoo due to quality concerns.
Severely sanction the establishments that produce and market traditional medicine with deceptive advertising.
The Traditional Medicine Management Department is responding to widespread issues of product falsification within the industry. They are urging provincial and municipal health departments to increase inspections and tighten controls on organizations and individuals involved in the production and sale of medicinal herbs, traditional medicines, and counterfeit drugs. The goal is to combat smuggling, commercial fraud, product falsification, and intellectual property rights violations.
A key focus will be the review and inspection of facilities practicing traditional medicine, including professionals, those with traditional recipes, and individuals using traditional treatment methods.Scrutiny will centre on the scope of professional activities within traditional medical clinics and treatment rooms.
