DAZN Charges €19.99 Extra for 2026 World Cup Access in Spain, Excluding Premium Subscribers

DAZN announced on Thursday that access to the 2026 FIFA World Cup will cost an additional €19.99 (approximately $21.50) for most subscribers, with the tournament set to run from June 11 to July 19 across the United States, Mexico, and Canada.

The fee applies as an add-on to existing DAZN subscriptions, except for users on the Premium plan or those who have purchased the annual Football, Motor and Basketball bundle with a one-time payment, who will receive World Cup access at no extra cost.

Movistar Plus+ customers will also be able to stream all 104 matches through DAZN under a commercial agreement between the platforms, ensuring full coverage for their subscribers without additional steps.

In Spain, RTVE will broadcast select matches free-to-air, including one group-stage game per day, all Spain national team fixtures, and half of the knockout-round matches — specifically the round of 16, quarter-finals, both semi-finals, and the third-place play-off and final.

The 2026 World Cup marks the first edition featuring 48 teams and a total of 104 matches, expanding the tournament by 40 games compared to Qatar 2022, and will be hosted jointly by three nations for the first time in history.

DAZN holds exclusive rights to the tournament in Spain through its agreement with Grup Mediapro, meaning every match will be available via its platform, either directly or through partner distributions.

Key Detail The €19.99 fee matches the price of the Gol Mundial channel during the 2022 World Cup, though this year’s package includes significantly more matches due to the expanded format.

DAZN emphasized that loyal subscribers on higher-tier plans are being rewarded, framing the waived fee for Premium and bundled users as a recognition of their long-term commitment to the service.

The announcement comes less than two months before the opening match at Estadio Azteca in Mexico City, where the host nation will begin its campaign in what organizers describe as a historic edition of the tournament.

Will I need to pay extra if I already have DAZN Premium?

No. Users with the DAZN Premium plan (in any format) or those who have paid annually for the Football, Motor and Basketball bundle will receive World Cup access included in their existing subscription at no additional cost.
