The italian investigative program “Le Iene” (The Hyenas) is revisiting the
controversial story of Davide Barzan in an investigation dubbed
“Barzageddon.” Barzan, who identifies as a criminalist,
gained prominence after the october 3, 2023, murder of Pierina
Paganelli in Rimini. Among his clients is Manuela Bianchi,
the victim’s sister-in-law.

Who is Davide Barzan?

Barzan, 57, is of Calabrian origin. His website states
that he is a criminalist and defense consultant known for his involvement in
high-profile cases,including the Pierina Paganelli murder,the
disappearance of Greta Spreafico,and as an expert in the cases of Rosa and
Olindo,Nada Cella,and Alessia Pifferi.

“The attacks against me? They are instrumental. Broadcasts entertainment want to
discredit me.”

The website also highlights Barzan’s frequent appearances on
television news programs such as Fourth degree, Italian Stories, Stories of the
Evening, Morning 5, Who Saw It, 2 PM, and Afternoon 5.

While Barzan reportedly graduated in jurisprudence,
he never qualified as a lawyer. “I am not a lawyer,” he told Le
Iene. “Do I have a degree in Law? I don’t answer.”

His situation drew further attention when the order of lawyers of
Rimini filed a complaint, with some individuals claiming they had been
scammed by the consultant.

Valeria Bartolucci’s Accusations

Barzan for her husband’s defense. Though, she later revoked the
mandate and accused Barzan of “abusive exercise of the forensic
profession,” alleging that he misrepresented himself as a lawyer.
