Swinging Sixties Revisited: Bailey’s Lens on a Cultural Revolution

A new exhibition, “Changing Fashion,” dedicated to teh groundbreaking work of British photographer David Bailey, is set to open at the Marta Ortega Pérez (MOP) Foundation in A coruña, Spain. Running from June 28th to September 14th, 2025, the exhibition promises an immersive journey into the heart of london’s vibrant cultural scene of the 1960s and 70s, as captured through Bailey’s distinctive lens.

The exhibition will showcase over 140 photographs,including previously unseen works,offering a comprehensive look at Bailey’s impact on fashion and portrait photography. A central highlight is Bailey’s seminal work, Box of Pin-Ups (1965), a collection of portraits featuring 36 prominent London figures. This collection encapsulates bailey’s unique relationships with his subjects, ranging from rock stars like Mick Jagger to ballet icons like Rudolf Nureyev, supermodels like Jean Shrimpton, actors like Michael Caine, and even controversial figures like Ronnie and Reggie Kray.
