The Daugavpils Dark Blue Choir delivered a memorable performance of “I’M a Believer” during the thematic music week on “Choir Wars,” captivating both the live audience and viewers at home. Their energetic rendition, infused with rock ‘n’ roll and disco vibes, resonated strongly with the jury, earning them an extraordinary score of 28 points.

Judges Laud Joyful Performance

Judge Jānis Ozols specifically praised the choir’s visible enthusiasm and the evident joy they displayed while singing solo. He also commended their overall presentation, noting that the choir both looked and sounded fantastic. This marks the third consecutive week that the Daugavpils Dark Blue Choir has secured a €1,000 prize, courtesy of Primero, adding to their momentum in the competition.

The Stakes are High: Charity Benefits

The competition remains fierce as choirs from Talsi, Tukums, Riga (two choirs), Jelgava, Aizkraukle, Saldus, and Smiltene continue to battle for the ultimate title. The winning choir will receive a grand prize of €10,000, which will be donated to a charity of their choice. This philanthropic aspect adds another layer of significance to the “Choir Wars” competition, aligning musical talent with charitable giving.

The battle for the title of the loudest choir continues in Talsi, Tukums, two Riga, Jelgava, Aizkraukle, Saldus and Smiltene choirs.
