At Dammweg 106 in Plänterwald: New medical practice opening in January 2026

The shortage of doctors has been a pressing problem for years, especially in the eastern outskirts such as Treptow-Köpenick, Lichtenberg and Marzahn-Hellersdorf. But even in locations that are not far from downtown Berlin, there are neighborhoods with a lack of medical services.

This has also been the case in the urban area around Dammweg (not far from Treptower Park) in recent years, where a former medical center has been converted and modernized since the end of 2023. In the past, the property has been the subject of several reports about vacant commercial space that could be used for medical practices.

This was also reported last year RBB about the fact that the building has been empty for a long time. In the meantime, the building was even home to a football team, which has since moved out.

Modern premises are now being built on Dammweg that will house a general medicine practice. This creates an important point of contact for medical care for people in the area. This is all the more important because new residents will soon be moving into Plänterwald just a few meters away.
