From March 20 to 23, 2026, White Dune Canyon will host the first edition of WDC Echoes in Dakhla, an artistic event led by women and designed as an immersive experience within the Saharan landscape.
Far from the classic festival format, the event is intended to be an intimate interlude between canyon, lagoon and white dune. Music, poetry, singing, well-being workshops and intergenerational exchanges will unfold without a central stage or artistic hierarchy. The performances are announced as organic and anchored in the natural setting, in a spirit of slowness and listening.
Organized between the Eid weekend and Women’s Month, this first edition aims to create a space for meeting and creation rather than lining up headliners. The call for participation, open until February 18, 2026, is aimed at young Moroccan artists or artists living in Morocco at the start of their career.
The musical co-curation is ensured by the singer and composer Oum El Ghait, alongside the coach Nawal Bendefa and the local artist Nissrine Bouguida, involved in the coordination and programming of this inaugural edition.
WDC Echoes also claims to have a social impact. All profits will be donated to the WDC Female Fellowship, a program launched in 2025 to train young women from Dakhla for careers in sports tourism and hospitality. Born from the observation of the low number of kitesurfing and wingfoil instructors in Morocco, this system offers a course including sports practice, IKO certification, English lessons, personal development and mentoring.
White Dune Canyon, an eco-resort with 32 rooms located opposite the Dune Blanche, places this initiative within a structured environmental and social approach. Sustainable water management, solar power, lightweight construction, local employment and promotion of gender equality are among the areas claimed by the site.
With WDC Echoes, Dakhla is hosting an event that combines artistic creation, feminine commitment and territorial anchoring in an emblematic natural setting of the Moroccan Sahara.
