The collision occurred at the exit to Paskov. “A lorry traveling in the direction of Frýdek-Místek carrying wood had a flat tire. Because of this, it crashed into a van driving next to it and then into the guardrails,” police spokeswoman Pavla Jiroušková described the accident.
During the car accident, logs spilled from the truck in the opposite direction, where three passenger cars crashed into it. “There was also a collision of two other vehicles in the direction of Ostrava in this connection,” she added, adding that the injured persons were handed over to the rescuers.
“All components of the Integrated Rescue System intervene on the spot, the police are diverting traffic onto the so-called old road, where slowly moving convoys are forming,” said the police spokeswoman.
