BUrgenland’s wine industry shines in the Hofburg At the vintage presentation in Vienna, Wein Burgenland drew a positive balance.
At a press conference before the start of the vintage presentation of over 100 wineries from Burgenland in the Vienna Hofburg last Tuesday, it was emphasized: The wine industry remains an important driving force for Burgenland. According to a current study, the gross value added is around 250 million euros. State Councilor Leonhard Schneemann referred to more than 6,000 secured jobs in the state. In addition, 8.2 million euros in taxes flowed directly into the state treasury in the previous year. For almost one in four guests, wine and cuisine are the main reason for a holiday in Burgenland. Wine Burgenland chairman Herbert Oschep added: Almost 30 percent of agricultural production in Burgenland comes from viticulture.
