Czech Car Prices: Engines, Trunks & Equipment

Seventeen centimeters is not that much, but they can still decide that your family just won’t fit in the ASX. Luckily for you, Mitsubishi has come to the rescue in the form of the Grandis crossover, which is exactly what we’re trying to imply – a stretched estate version of the popular ASX with an added dose of practicality.

We won’t hide anything, just as the ASX is essentially a Renault Captur, the Grandis is based on the Symbiosis. But that doesn’t matter at all, because both French cars are really good. In addition, the Grandis has not only those centimeters of length against the ASX, but also a practical sliding (by 16 cm) rear bench, thanks to which you can do magic with the size of the trunk – it can change the volume by 132 liters in the range of 576-708 l. By folding the rear backrests, you get a cave with a volume of 1,682 liters.

Grandis ASX Difference
Length 4 413 mm 4 239 mm +174 mm
Width 1 797 mm 1 797 mm
Height 1 575 mm 1 575 mm
Wheelbase 2 638 mm 2 639 mm
Trunk volume 576 – 708 l 484 l +92 l

Another minor difference is that the Grandis can have up to 19″ wheels (the ASX only has to make do with 18″) and a panoramic sunroof with electrochromic dimming – you can easily make it opaque at the touch of a button.

The Grandis also lacks the ASX’s basic engine (three-cylinder 1.2 DI-T with 115 hp) and starts with a four-cylinder 1.3 DI-T (140 hp) with 48V mild-hybrid assistance, thanks to which you can drive on plus or minus six liters. It always drives only the front wheels, you can choose between a six-speed manual and a seven-speed dual clutch.

In the cabin, you will find a 10-inch instrument panel (basically 7-inch) and a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment with a great system from Google, which you will immediately get used to. In addition, you can turn off all annoying assistants with a single button.

If you want to drive even more economically, go for the improved full-hybrid (diesel is not and will not be) – it is now based on a four-cylinder 18 engine (previously it was a 16 engine) and an improved multi-mode automatic transmission, so it is more powerful (combined output is 160 hp), more efficient, quieter and smoother. And it can drive for some 4.5 liters on average, as we have already tested during the first press drives, where the Grandis proved to be a very pleasant companion.

Not only does it drive comfortably and confidently, it also has a cozy, yet spacious cabin, which you can decorate with a wide range of equipment – this includes keyless access, heated seats with electric control and leather upholstery, a panoramic parking system or Harman Kardon premium audio with 9 speakers (8+subwoofer) with a power of 410 W.

Even the very basic is decently equipped (6 airbags, LED headlights, electric windows and mirrors, manual climate control, central control, 7″ instrument panel and 10.4″ infotainment and much more, rear parking sensors with a camera and much more), so you don’t have to worry about feeling like you’re in a hollow apartment.

Mitsubishi Grandis price list (01/2026).

A more powerful engine and more space basically mean that Grandis starts just below the threshold of 600 thousand crowns (You can buy an ASX starting at 500,000), but it is definitely a good investment, because Grandis will give you many more options in life. And you won’t find another similarly spacious compact for similar money on the Czech market…

And it is also worth mentioning that Mitsubishi has (for all its cars) factory warranty 8 years/160,000 km.
