Syrsky: how many occupiers are still in Kupyansk, the situation in Volchansk
In the North Slobozhansky direction, hostilities continue in the Volchansk area, said the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Alexander Syrsky during a meeting with journalists, reports the Glavkom publication.
It is noted that the enemy is trying to break through the defenses, however, the commander-in-chief says, thanks to well-constructed battle formations and the restructuring of the fire system, he has not achieved significant success. The situation and the position of the troops remain stable, the enemy is suffering losses.
In the Kupyansky direction the situation is unchanged, Syrsky continued. Despite regular statements by the leadership of the Russian Armed Forces about the alleged taking of Kupyansk under control, the real state of affairs has not changed. Enemy sabotage groups of 40-50 people remain in the city.
The SOU are carrying out counter-sabotage measures, and the Russians are suffering constant losses.
At the same time, he noted, the situation is complicated by the enemy’s active use of fiber-optic controlled UAVs at distances of 30 km or more.
The Commander-in-Chief stated that the main efforts of the Russian Army are focusing on the Pokrovsky, Ocheretinsky and Aleksandrovsky directions.
