According to Profpoint CEO Sumit Dhawan, the acquisition will facilitate the consolidation of fragmented security tools into a unified platform. This platform will be designed to protect individuals and defend data across the evolving global threat landscape. Dhawan emphasized the critical need for integrated, high-efficiency solutions, particularly for small and medium-sized enterprises (smes) that are increasingly targeted by cybercriminals.

IPO Aspirations and Future Growth

The acquisition of HornetsCurity is expected to significantly boost Profpoint’s revenue and cash flow, strengthening its position as it explores a potential return to the public markets. While Dhawan clarified that there are no immediate IPO plans, he affirmed the company’s continued interest in the IPO market and its intention to explore a public offering when the timing is right.

HornetsCurity currently serves over 125,000 SMEs and employs more than 700 individuals. Profpoint, with over 4,500 employees, boasts a customer base that includes 85% of Fortune 100 companies. the transaction is anticipated to close in the latter half of 2025, pending standard closing conditions.
