Cyberpunk 2077 Update 2.2 Confirmed

Cyberpunk 2077 Still Has Gas in the Tank: Major Update Coming in December

Despite focusing on projects like The Witcher 4 (Polaris) and the Cyberpunk sequel, CD Projekt Red surprised fans with the announcement of a significant update for Cyberpunk 2077. This update, version 2.2, will mark the game’s four-year anniversary on December 10th.

What We Know So Far

While details are scarce, CD Projekt has promised "big things" coming in the update. Marcin Momot, Global Community Director at CD Projekt, even revealed in a tweet that the team "still has some gas in the tank" for Cyberpunk 2077.

A dedicated REDstream event on December 9th will delve deeper into the new features included in Update 2.2.

What’s Not Coming

CD Projekt also addressed fan speculation regarding the update, confirming that it won’t include new features like New Game Plus and a PlayStation 5 Pro patch. However, the studio emphasized that exciting features are still coming, "some cool stuff in the oven" as Momot put it.

Cyberpunk 2077’s Continued Success

This news comes as Cyberpunk 2077 celebrates a major milestone, reaching 30 million copies sold. The recent Phantom Liberty expansion has also been a hit, selling over eight million copies. These achievements demonstrate the game’s lasting appeal and the dedicated player base that continues to engage with Night City.

Looking Ahead

With a major update on the horizon and the ongoing success of both the base game and Phantom Liberty, Cyberpunk 2077 shows no signs of slowing down. CD Projekt Red’s commitment to supporting the game with fresh content confirms that Night City’s story is far from over.
