The municipal administration of Cupra Marittima will invest 250 thousand euros, coming from the stipulation of a mortgage with the Cassa Depositi e Prestiti, to carry out maintenance and modernization works on the protected residence and retirement home ‘Clemente e Nella Ciccarelli’ for the purposes of renewing the authorization to operate the RSA building. The feasibility project was approved by the Council and involves the replacement of the internal lift, the replacement of worn sanitary ware in the bathrooms, the renovation of the bedrooms and bathrooms on the second floor, the replacement of old furniture, the arrangement of external spaces, the extraordinary maintenance of the electrical system of the heating plant, and some plasterboard masonry works. Also planned is the renovation of the balcony on the first floor and other small works such as the replacement of the thermostatic valves of the radiators and the covering of the generator set. The building was built at the beginning of the 20th century and renovated with additions in the early 70s. It was renovated again, but mainly from a plant engineering point of view, in 2013. The building is spread over five floors including the basement where the kitchen, laundry rooms, storage rooms and services are located, while on the ground floor there are rooms for common services, administration, chapel, infirmary, dining room, TV room and toilets. The other floors are intended for guest rooms, except the attic which is used as an attic. The municipal administration has always paid particular attention to the retirement home with various interventions to improve the conditions of guests and workers, but now a more incisive project has become necessary to allow the renewal of the authorization to carry out Rsa activities.
