A violent fire declared itself in an apartment in the center of Rouen this Saturday, November 29, 2025. According to an initial assessment, two people are in critical condition.
Violent fire: two injured in absolute emergency
“I heard people shouting,” confides a neighbor while watching the ongoing intervention of the firefighters. These latter were called around 9:30 p.m. for a fire that broke out in an apartment on the ground floor of a building in the rue Bouvreuil.
Another neighbor explains having seen the firefighters “take out two unconscious people”. According to the mayor of Rouen, they were treated in critical condition. “It’s about two people around 70-75 years old. They were transported to hospital as an absolute emergency,” explains Nicolas Mayer-Rossignol.
A third person, tenant of an apartment upstairs, was treated but was unhurt. A car which was located next to the apartment was damaged.
For the moment, the origin of the disaster is unknown. A police investigation will have to determine it. Around 10:30 p.m., the fire brigade operation continued to secure the scene.
