CITY OF PUEBLA, Pue.- The State Government, through the Ministry of Health, maintains epidemiological care and surveillance actions in the face of coxsackie virus outbreaks, especially in educational institutions of the entity.
As of October 23, 470 probable cases and 66 outbreaks have been registered in preschool and primary schools, while the municipalities with the highest number of cases are Puebla, Tehuacán and Tehuitzingo.
It should be noted that there is no epidemiological emergency situation. However, in coordination with the Ministry of Public Education (SEP), health control measures are reinforced to act quickly and efficiently in the event of any suspicion of contagion.
In this sense, it is recommended to maintain adequate personal hygiene, with frequent hand washing with soap and water, especially after going to the bathroom, before eating or preparing food. It is important to avoid sharing utensils, glasses, towels or toys and refrain from kissing or hugging people who have injuries or rashes.
It is also suggested to regularly clean and disinfect commonly used surfaces and objects, in addition to maintaining good ventilation in closed spaces. If you present symptoms such as fever, sore throat or sores in the mouth, hands and feet, you are encouraged not to go to school and go to the nearest medical unit to receive care.
The administration headed by Alejandro Armenta reiterates the call to mothers, fathers and guardians to follow preventive measures and maintain communication with the educational and health authorities in the event of any suspicious symptoms.
