If you recently bought a bottle of Prosecco Kirkland Signature Valdobbiadene DOCG in Costcopay attention: almost a million bottles have been withdrawn from the market in 12 states of the United States due to risk of rupture.
According to the warehouse chain, the affected bottles can break or burst spontaneouslywhich represents a danger of cuts or injuries for those who manipulate them.
This recall affects the product Kirkland Signature Valdobbiadene Prosecco DOCG (Item #1879870)distributed between the April 25 and August 26, 2025.
The states included are: Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, North Dakota, Nebraska, Ohio, Dakota del Sur and Wisconsin.
What consumers should do
Costco asked customers to do not open or return the bottles to the stores.
Instead, recommend throw them away immediately by wrapping them in a paper towel and placing them inside a plastic bag before throwing them away to reduce the risk of injury from broken glass.
“Do not return the item to stores,” emphasizes the notice published by the company.
The company has not reported injuries associated with this problem so far, but insists on immediate caution of the consumers who purchased the product.
